Farewell, ColorDrop: A Decade of Colors and Growth
January 2025 marks 10 years since I first launched ColorDrop.io, a project that started as a small idea and grew into something that brought joy and utility to designers, developers, and creators across the globe.
Over the past decade, ColorDrop has been a part of my journey—personally and professionally. It began as a side project but soon became a testament to how simple tools can bring immense value. Along the way, my skills evolved, my career grew, and so did I.
Now, as I reflect on these 10 years, I realize that I no longer have the time and focus that ColorDrop truly deserves. A product like this thrives on care, updates, and a vision for the future. And while I still love what it stands for, I know that I'm not the one to carry it forward anymore.
A New Chapter for ColorDrop
After a decade of building and nurturing ColorDrop, I knew it was time to pass the torch to someone with fresh energy and ideas. Enter Tim B, ColorDrop's new owner and visionary. Tim has a deep appreciation for what ColorDrop represents and a clear ambition to take it to the next level.
During our conversations, it was clear that Tim shares the same values that guided ColorDrop's creation: simplicity, utility, and delight for its users. I’m confident that his stewardship will bring exciting updates and new features that will continue to serve the creative community for years to come.
If you'd like to follow ColorDrop's journey under Tim's leadership, you can learn more about him and his work at timb.com.
Thank You
To everyone who has used ColorDrop over the years: thank you. Whether you shared palettes, relied on it in your projects, or just explored its tools for fun, you made this little project more meaningful than I ever imagined.
Creating and running ColorDrop for the past 10 years has taught me so much, and I'll always look back on this chapter with gratitude.
Here's to new beginnings—for both ColorDrop and me.
